Paint correction is the process of renewing exterior paint finish by removing paint defects such as scratches, swirls, marring, chemical etching and oxidation. It is a process that can yield dramatic results done by the right person who has the skill, patience, and desire to create the perfect finish. When light is introduced to the vehicle surfaces, paint imperfections affect the way in which the light is reflected. It is dispersed in a random fashion and gives the paint a dulled finish as the true depth and color of the paint is lost. A full paint correction dramatically increases the overall look of your vehicle, but can not be completed without being properly sealed to ensure lasting quality.

Do I need Paint Correction?

Anyone desiring a flawless paint finish is a candidate for Paint Correction. The most common paint defect is marring, which can be described as spider web like scratches that adorn the entire vehicle. Marring is caused by a range of factors such as incorrect washing techniques, automatic car washes, rubbing or wiping of paint and many other elements.

Many detailers claim they are skilled in performing Paint Correction, but the reality is that there are many products on the market that are full of oils and silicones that act as fillers. They fill the imperfection and give the appearance of a flawless finish, but after a few washes or rains the vehicles returns to the original appearance.

Using the very latest machine tools and specialised products, we will completely remove unsightly swirls, buffer marks, holograms and oxidation from your vehicles paintwork, not just mask them with products containing fillers and gloss enhancers like others may choose to do.

Etched Hard Water Spots

Long periods of sun exposure onto car paint causes oxidation and fading. This process is dramatically sped up if there is no protection on the paint such as a quality sealant or coating.

Water spots are most frequently created when hard water is left on a surface (paint or glass) to dry. This can be due to not drying your car after a wash, parking your car too close to a sprinkler, or even from rain water that is left on the surface too long. In a best case scenario, the minerals and dirt in the water are simply left on the surface of the paint after the water has evaporated off. Things get worse if the water contains something corrosive that etches the surface as it sits, creating a “crater”. If not addressed, these etchings can actually get worse over time, as water will pool in them and continue to etch the same spot.
